Islamabad. According to Pakistani media reports, JF-17 fighter aircraft have become a liability for Pakistan. The Pakistan Air Force is troubled by the engine cracks, poor serviceability, high maintenance and deteriorating performance of these aircraft. Let us tell you that in the year 1999, China and Pakistan had signed the joint production agreement of JF-17. It has been compared to the Su-30 MKI, MiG-29 and Mirage-2000. The JF-17 RD-93 aero-engine can make the enemy easy prey during close air strikes by emitting black smoke.

But the Pakistan Air Force is upset with this fighter plane because the claims made by China do not fit the JF-17. Pakistan has complained many times to China regarding the engine and its weaknesses of the JF-17 fighter aircraft, but no specific response has been received from China.

China has tried to change the engine of JF-17 but its RD-93 engine is Russian. In this, China is facing difficulties in getting spare parts and other help from Russia due to sanctions. Now China is developing the Guizhou WS-13 Taishan engine to replace the JF-17 engine, but it is going to take a long time as it is still considered in the initial stages.
