Jagran Correspondent, Varanasi: Due to torrential rains accompanied by strong winds, the electricity system of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Government Hospital failed. Due to this, the fans and ACs were turned off and the health of three of the patients admitted to the trauma center deteriorated. It happened that when the workers started the generator after the power cut, there was a fault in its cable. Due to this, there was darkness in the entire campus from three o’clock to five.
People were seen lighting cellphone torches and blowing air with pots and dupatta. During this, the health of Harshit, a resident of Koilwa of Shivpur, deteriorated. He had trouble breathing. The condition of 65-year-old Kundan Dubey of Mukteshwar Dham Colony became critical due to high blood pressure. Shubham Vishwakarma, a resident of Sakaldiha, suddenly felt severe pain in his stomach. These patients suffered due to lack of timely treatment.
Despite being in the hospital, he was deprived of medicine and needles. Not only this, the entire campus was filled with rain. The water reached the operation theater gate. The scavengers took out water with an electronic wiper machine. On the other hand, the smooth tiles became slippery due to water. Due to this, many patients and their relatives slipped and got minor injuries.
Medical superintendent Dr. RK Yadav said that the trauma center is running in emergency for more than a month. This was done due to the installation and repair of tiles in the new building. On Friday, the trauma center will be shifted to the new building as before.
